Project Description

Located at 5808 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, California is the Sunset Bronson Studios (SBS) high-rise Office Tower project by Hudson Pacific Properties, Inc. built ancillary to studio-related buildings located in the SBS lot in the Hollywood Community of the City of Los Angeles.  The Office Tower consists of a 14-story office space of 428,245 gross square feet, including one level of underground parking below the tower and roof deck gardens.  The uppermost occupied story is 180 feet above the grade plane and the parking area extends one level below the grade plane.  The total height of the Office Tower from the grade plane to the top of the tower is 193.5 feet, not including 10 feet of the below grade plane parking level.  Netflix is the occupier of the entire building.  

Main Speaker 

Oswaldo “Ozzie” Mercado has 18 plus years of experience working in the fire protection and regulatory arenas on national and international projects.  Ozzie’s experience includes design and specification preparation for fire alarm, fire protection, special hazard and smoke control systems, code consultant for both new and existing facilities, performance-base design strategies and project administration.  Ozzie currently works for SIMPSON GUMPERTZ AND HEGER.

 

Ozzie is a certified City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety Deputy Building Inspector for Smoke Control Systems and also holds a certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies and is certified as a Level III in Fire Alarm Systems.  He is a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) and sits on the Board as a Co-Vice President in the Southern California Chapter.
