Description:

The first edition of NFPA 770, Standard on Hybrid Fire-Extinguishing Systems, is the 2021 edition. Since halon alternatives were needed, industry responded with a plethora of options - clean agents, inert gas, water mist, and aerosols. But each of these had limitations. Industry found that combining some of these new media reduced limitation and increased effectiveness with a green replacement. Hybrid media is an inert gas combined with water mist. NFPA began considering these systems in 2012, approved creating a new standard in 2014, and from 2015 to 2021 the committee met to create the first edition of NFPA 770 issued in 2021.
